Series of still life works that explore materiality, structure and juxtaposition, implying a focus on the form over the attachment of a concept.

STILL LIFE PROCESS

REFLECTION

Many of the Still Life works began with a basic interest and investigation into a material. I'm very good at finding creative solutions with objects that are within an arms reach. Breaking, cutting, squashing, smashing – These are some of the ways I challenge the material properties of an object, to find a new form and see what the material can withstand or become. I've become fond of the uniting of non-compatible materials, and through the act of play, have discovered unexpected results and generated some strangely beautiful objects.
